The sharing of ready rooms and the inherent dangers of Naval Aviation, particularly in combat, forges enduring bonds. In this article from the Fall 1991 issue of The Hook a Tailhooker remembers CDR Robert Hessom, an A-1 Skyraider pilot and commanding officer of the VA-115 Arabs, who was killed in action over Vietnam in 1966. The magazine did not print many color images back then, so we have found a nice shot of one of the squadron's Spads at NAS Lemoore. Hook '21 honors the heroes of the Vietnam Air Campaign.
