2 Ways to Change Lives This Year. Funding TEF Scholarships!
It's that time of year when many of us are thinking about how we can be more charitable - while, at the same time, plan for next year's tax return. Below are two easy ways you can support the Tailhook Educational Foundation today.
Remember: To qualify for a tax break, these gifts must be made by December 31.
1. Give Cash (Donate Link Here)
Why: You can make an immediate impact on our mission while helping our Naval Aviation legacy students fulfill their educational goals. You can make your gift unrestricted, meaning we can use the gift for our most pressing needs, or, you can designate your gift for a specific purpose, such as a scholarship or campaign.
Your benefits: Cash gifts are tax deductible up to 50 percent of your adjusted gross income, and gifts above 50 percent may be carried over as deductions for up to five additional years.
2. Contribute Appreciated Securities
Why: Stocks or other investments that have increased in value since you originally bought them and that you have owned more than one year can become a generous gift with a low net cost to you.
Your benefits: Donate these assets and receive a charitable deduction based on their fair market value on the day of the gift. You also eliminate federal capital gains tax that would have been due on their sale.
Accomplish the following to ensure that you receive a tax break on your itemized tax return:
Checks must be made out to the Tailhook Educational Fund and mailed to:
9696 Businesspark Ave.,
San Diego, CA 92131,
and postmarked by 31 December
Credit card charges must also be authorized by 31 December.
Securities, if electronically transferred to us, must enter our account on or before December 31.
